Love Story: a chance encounter
Sarah and Nathan's love story began in the most unexpected place - McDonald's. In a moment of playful humor, Sarah jokingly told they were "dating and planning a wedding". This lighthearted jest eventually turned into a beautiful reality!
For 12 years, Sarah and Nathan have shared life's highs and lows, creating countless cherished memories. Their shared love for travel has taken them to over 25 countries, exploring new cultures and embracing spontaneity with last-minute flights and impromptu adventures. Their adventurous spirits are the bedrock of their relationship.
A Proposal to Remember
In a picturesque park, beneath a canopy of blooming cherry blossoms, Nathan got down on one knee. With the sun setting behind them, casting a warm glow, Sarah's joyful "yes" marked the beginning of their journey toward a life together. Years before, as friends, they crafted little paper rings for each other. Nathan kept his, and twelve years later, he used it to propose.
“I said YES to a lifetime of making memories, I said YES to booking last minute flights, I said YES to chasing trains, I said YES to living this fairytale together, I said YES to staying up all night laughing, I said YES to adventure, I said YES to fun, I said YES to living a life in colour together” - Sarah said yes.
Wedding Venue & Decor
The color palette was “cream and blush” Every detail felt like it was taken from a storybook! The couple chose the stunning VanDusen Botanical Garden for their ceremony. Underneath the grand willow tree, their vows resonated through the serene environment. The gentle rustling of leaves and the soft murmur of a nearby stream created an idyllic backdrop, highlighting the natural beauty that surrounded them.
The historical charm of the venue, combined with the exquisite decorations, transformed the space into a fairy-tale setting. Twinkling lights and floral arrangements in soft hues added to the enchantment, creating a magical atmosphere for their guests.
Wedding Ceremony
Sarah shared, “I always dreamed of getting married under a willow tree. We found the perfect willow tree across the country in BC and decided to take that as the perfect sign to do a destination wedding there”.
Reception
Their first dance was to "God Gave Me You" by Blake Shelton. The evening was full of happiness, with luscious margaritas and a stunning wedding cake by Oh Sweet Day, topped off with a personalized cake set by Elena Honch, engraved with the couple's names, wedding date and the phrase “God Gave Me You”.
The closest people spoke the most sincere toasts, tears of happiness flowed, love was in the air, and in the hands of the couple were unique wedding tulip-shaded glasses, which emphasized the tenderness of every moment!
Set Ivory Tulipa
Personalized wedding set, chosen from Elena Honch’s wedding collection, featured intricate designs and hand-decorated details, reflecting the couple’s style and the craftsmanship behind every piece. Tulip-shaped flutes in delicate ivory hues, symbolized the couple's blossoming love and the beauty of devotion.
Celebration of Love on 1st Wedding Anniversary
A year later, Sarah and Nathan celebrated their anniversary with the same personalized set, reliving the magical moments of their wedding day. The glasses, now cherished heirlooms, added a touch of nostalgia and elegance to their celebration, making it just as special as their wedding day.
